A partnership with representatives from West Kirby and Wirral Lions Clubs, and the Wirral Society of the Blind and Partially Sighted.has been established with the aim of raising £45,000 towards the cost of building an extension at the Society to increase the range of activities for the visually impaired in Wirral.
There are around 3,000 people registered blind living in Wirral, but it is likely that there are more people who are not registered. On average 100 people each week attend the Centre in Ashville Lodge, Birkenhead, but it can get very cramped. The extension will allow more people to access services and learn new skills which will make a positive difference to their quality of life.
We have several fundraising plans, including:-
Ø A ‘BRICK APPEAL’ whereby people are invited to make a donation to the development appeal.
Ø A CHARITY AUCTION. Donated items will be auctioned at an event planned during the Christmas season
Ø A concert given by Clywd Clippers
Ø Wirral Lions will be completing the Wirral Coastal Walk and the Development Appeal is their chosen charity
Every penny donated to the appeal will be used for the development, there will not be any deductions for the administration of the campaign.
